The assessment of biochemical data, medical tests and procedures (laboratory data [eg, electrolytes, glucose, and lipid panel] and tests [eg, gastric emptying time, resting metabolic rate]) will vary.
A registered dietitian nutritionist can review relevant laboratory data, including lipid profile, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), vitamin D, lipoprotein (a), and blood glucose, hemoglobin (Hgb) A1c, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, potassium, phosphorus, vitamin D, and albumin etc.
*The most common lab testing requested for assessment are the fasting lipid panel, HgbA1c, comprehensive metabolic panel, complete blood count, vitamin D, TSH and T4.
Done by your physician or medical team, we first recommend functional lab testing in order to get the most detailed information about your body and your metabolic function. This is required by your primary care physician once a year as part of a wellness visit. It is strongly recommended to be up to date with your labs as it is an advanced approach to medicine looking at root causes and early detection!
